What is it?
These are specialized surgical procedures to remove cancerous tumors or affected organs. They cover cancers of the urinary system (Uro-oncology) as well as breast and head & neck regions.
Types of Cancer Surgeries:
CANCER SURGERIES:
- Mastectomy / Lumpectomy – Removal of the entire breast or tumor in breast cancer
- Head & Neck Cancer Resection – Surgical removal of tumors from oral cavity, throat, or neck
- Neck Dissection – Removal of lymph nodes in advanced head & neck cancers
URO-ONCOLOGY SURGERIES:
- Radical Nephrectomy – Removal of the entire kidney
- Partial Nephrectomy – Removal of only the tumor from the kidney
- Radical Cystectomy – Removal of the bladder
- Prostatectomy – Removal of the prostate gland
- Lymph Node Dissection – Removal of lymph nodes if cancer has spread

How is it done?

Can be open, laparoscopic, or robotic depending on the case

Tumor and surrounding tissues are removed

Sometimes urinary diversion is done if bladder is removed
