Stones stuck in the ureter (tube between kidney and bladder)

How is it done?

No cuts required

A thin, flexible or rigid scope is passed through the urethra and bladder into the ureter/kidney

The stone is located, broken with a laser (if needed), and removed

A stent (small tube) may be placed to help urine flow after surgery
Recovery:

Hospital stay: Same day or 1 night

Back to work in 3–5 days

If a stent is placed, it’s usually removed after 1–2 weeks
