What is it?
A keyhole surgery to remove the gallbladder, usually due to gallstones causing pain, infection, or inflammation.

How is it done?

Done under general anesthesia

3–4 small incisions made in the abdomen

A laparoscope (camera) and instruments are inserted

Gallbladder is safely detached and removed

Most procedures are completed within 1–2 hours
Recovery:

Hospital stay: 1–2 days (often same day discharge)

Resume normal activities in 3–5 days
